Outdoor Fitness Magazine (WEMBO 2014)
In 2014 the WEMBO 24 hour race was to be held in Fort William. Due to my strong love for Scotland and knowing a few people racing, I decided to make the journey North for a long weekend. My main goal was to hopefully make some money from the event to at least pay for my trip. On my return, I was amazed and chuffed at just how well received my images were.
I drove up in my camper and spent a night in Glen Coe on the way there and on the way back, which was amazing. I was blessed with amazing sunsets and sun rises on both stops. One of the images I took here was amazingly shortlisted for the Scottish landscape photographer of the year.
Once at Fort William I met up with Matt Page and his crew and made myself familiar with the venue. We then went off to ride the course, not only was this beneficial for my photography, it also made me realise just how tough this would be in a 24hr race.
During the race I moved around the course trying to capture the varying terrain and how the riders interacted with the landscape. As I was awake for 24 hours I decided to shoot some video, click here to view.
